Matamata is a rural Waikato town with a total population of around 12,000 (6,000 rural - 6,000 township).  Nestled at the base of the scenic Kaimai Ranges, it is the centre of a thriving farming area.  Matamata is noted as an important bloodstock region.  It is centrally located and visitors are drawn to it's many attractions and activities.
